ABOUT GAUSSIAN

We Build the Missing
Security Layer for AI Agents

AI coding tools went from suggesting code to executing it. Your EDR can't tell the difference between a developer and an AI agent spawning the same process. We built Gaussian to close that gap — at the OS level, in real time.

THE FOUNDING STORY · THE TWO-FOLD PROBLEMBy Vinay Kumar, Founder

We built TuringMind to understand software and the changes AI agents were making to it.

The Realization · Execution vs Intention

Understanding Intention Isn't Enough

While building code intelligence, we noticed something we couldn't ignore: understanding what an agent intends to do isn't enough. Someone has to control what it is actually allowed to do before side effects land.

The Solution · Runtime Enforcement

So We Built Gaussian

We built Gaussian as an inline macOS agent firewall to intercept MCP tool calls, audit skill manifests, and govern processes and network egress at the OS layer in real time.

TuringMind understands the code. Gaussian controls what the agent can do. Together, they establish complete governance for the AI-augmented engineering workstation.

Founder & CEO

Systems and security engineering leader focused on endpoint defense and agentic AI governance. Built enterprise security infrastructure protecting developer workstations at scale. Obsessed with closing the blind spot between autonomous AI agent execution and OS kernel enforcement.

HOW WE BUILD

Honest Engineering

We publish our known limitations alongside our capabilities. If Gaussian can't block something, we say so. The 'Honest Gaps' section on our comparison page isn't marketing — it's how we build trust with security teams.

Endpoint Truth

Configuration files lie. Advisory databases lag. The only source of truth for what AI agents actually execute is the operating system kernel. Gaussian is built on Apple's Endpoint Security and Network Extension APIs — not proxies, not browser extensions, not agents that can be bypassed.

Developer-First Security

Security tools that slow developers down get disabled. Gaussian runs as a native macOS system extension with sub-1ms evaluation latency. Monitor mode logs everything transparently. Developers keep their workflow — security teams get visibility.
